A picture has just come in from Somers Forge Ltd of the valve extension rods they have just completed forging. These are now being transported to the Great Central Railway for machining.

A picture has just come in from Somers Forge Ltd of the valve extension rods they have just completed forging. These are now being transported to the Great Central Railway for machining.
If you do not mind me asking and I know these are rough blanks but what will be their final function?
