It is a Happy Easter when we get photos from HSBB showing progress on our boiler.
The pictures below show an internal plate being fitted, the manifold bracket being fitted to the backhead, and the safety valve reinforcing ring being fitted.
If you look closely at the picture bottom middle you can see the chalk outline on the throatplate showing the position of the inner plate shown in the first picture.
The ring shown in the bottom pictures is not just to mount the safety valve casting; it is essential that the ring compensates for the loss in strength in the barrel caused by drilling a hole in it, particularly one of this size, hence its fairly significant bulk.
