A mini update this time with a couple of pictures taken of the new tender looking across the locomotive with the distinctive straight splashers in evidence.

The straight splashers are a much talked about aspect of the Hawksworth County but of course it wasn't the only GWR loco type to have them. There is at least one other locomotive class, two individual locomotives, and a class that never made it. Quiz time, just for fun - what were they? Scroll down under the next picture for the answers.

OK so how did we do?

From top left:

  1. 30xx ROD class.

  2. 5005 Manorbier Castle

  3. 6014 King Henry VII

  4. Hawksworth 4-4-0 (replacement for the Dukedogs)
